The County Liners: Love Letter – The Best Song I Ever Heard

Reviewed by Harry Kaplan
I have been obsessed with this song since I first heard it about a week ago. I can’t get it out of my head. And that’s perfectly OK with me. This song is so freakin’ good, I need at least another hundred listens and looks to get my fill. This is what Americana was back in the mid 80s before it had a proper name. Although just released, this song instantly takes me back to 1987 when indie rock and country were first doing their courtship dance. This is a little X, Lone Justice, Aimee Mann, and Green On Red. Even the video is straight outa’ the 80s. This is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Will I say the same thing six months from now? Most likely. If I am this deeply invested in a song already, it will surely have staying power.
