Creedence Clearwater Revisited: Live Review – September 14, 2019 at The Great Frederick Fair Frederick, MD

I was excited to begin with because I have never seen Creedence and I wanted to see the performers perform the songs that were, and still are, the soundtrack to my life. Every time I hear certain Creedence songs, I immediately go back to a particular moment in time when that song was playing. Be it carpool, baseball practice, the beach, or just listening to the radio, these songs have a profound impact on me.
The evening was great. A little bit overcast with the slight threat of rain, but the weather held all night. The venue seemed to be the grandstand and track for horse racing. The planners did a great job making this a venue with energy and chemistry. The chemistry between the band and the audience was very evident. The band, being the lifelong performers that they are, know how to extract every ounce of energy from the audience and use that energy to motivate the band.
Creedence Clear Water Revisited is Doug “Cosmo” Clifford on drums, Stu Cook on bass, Dan McGuinness on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Kurt Griffey on lead guitar, and Steve Gunner on the keys. Doug and Stu are original Creedence Clearwater Revival members and founders. They started their project 25 years ago because the people wanted to see these timeless songs played live. As Doug stated so eloquently, when this tour is over, that’s it. Doug and Stu want to spend time with the grandchildren and not live on a tour bus anymore. All the more reason I am so fortunate to have seen them live.
